NEW EDITION FOR 2023!

100 Great Motorcycle Rides in the Smoky Mountains has been completely updated and improved. This 24 x 36 inch map catalogues the best of the best roads motorcyclists will enjoy riding in the high mountains surrounding and including Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Way more than 100 superb rides are highlighted in red with extra highlighting to the most commonly enjoyed and popular roads as well as an extensive collection of unknown empty two lane scenic back roads for you to enjoy. The best roads to use to connect between the outstanding rides are highlighted in blue. Simply stick to the highlighted roads and the ride will never end. There is no more detailed and comprehensive motorcycle map of this area, no matter where you are, there is an outstanding road nearby

Emphasis on this version was to make the map easier to read and add more sights, attractions, overlooks, roadside waterfalls, covered bridges, and motorcycle friendly stops while updating the locations of gas stations and other stops which have changed over the past 2 years. I've included more of my personal favorite stops as well as bypass roads to skirt around towns.

The back side of the map contains descriptions of the roads in the various areas, the roads which connect to the Blue Ridge Parkway, the closest gas stations to each exit on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and attractions along it. Inset maps zoom in on the bigger towns to make navigating them easier and show more local features. There is a list of 36+ roadside waterfalls with a brief description of each.

The map folds into a standard road map size so it fits easily in a pocket where it is handy. It is printed on extremely tough and durable material, the inks are colorfast and don't fade, and of course it is completely waterproof. They will hold up for years on your motorcycle, a solid investment.

This is not a hodge-podge of roads collected from the internetWe ride and re-ride these roads periodically comparing them to other roads nearby and choose which we truly enjoywhich are highly useful, and roads which hold outstanding views and challenging sections to ride. These are the roads we ride for good reason. Roads which appeal to us are chosen based on how curvy and challenging they are to ride, great views and sights along the way, and the low traffic load typical on each. The vast majority are twisty two lane paved empty roads through scenic mountains and valleys. Many of the blue highlighted connecting roads meet all of the criteria except they are busier - they carry more traffic. You will find these roads enjoyable to ride but you may be sharing them with others.

This map is ideal for planning your trip to the Smoky Mountains as well as navigating through them. Approach routes are shown from Knoxville, TN in the north and Greenville, SC in the south. The map includes Blue Ridge, GA at the SW corner and extends to the outstanding riding north of Asheville, NC to Erwin, TN. It encompasses all of the Cherohala Skyway to Tellico  Plains, TN, The Dragon at Deals Gap, NC, the Foothills Scenic Parkway north of Great Smoky Mountains National Park and more than 100 miles of the south end of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

See what others miss, go wonderful places few will ever see, discover some of the best riding in the world!
